🐦 Get paid $25 for a Tweet on bitcoin
and what is the bitcoin network anyway?
GM. This is 2036, the newsletter that pays you to learn about crypto.
Today we're going to keep it super simple.
We'll help you:
understand the basics of bitcoin in 3min
leverage what you learn to build an audience.
So let's dive right into it.
What is the bitcoin network?
At its core, the bitcoin "network" is just a series of people running the bitcoin software on their computers.
Anyone can download that software. In fact, you can do it right here on this website.
And if you run the software, you'll become a node in the network ("node" is just a fancy word for someone running the software).
The purpose of the software is to talk to other computers running the same software.
Think of it like Discord - but for computer programs.
But instead of talking about NFTs and the weather like you and I (at least that's how I use Discord!), these computers talk about what's going on in other parts of the network.
They talk to each other to stay up to date on things like new transactions. That's how the bitcoin blockchain is updated.
And what is a blockchain? Well, that's a story for another email. One thing at a time.
For now, all you need to know is that bitcoin is just a network of computers running the same software. They're called nodes. And their goal is to keep each other posted on what's going on.
That's why it's called "peer-to-peer" btw. Everyone is equal and connected to one another.
Beautiful, isn't it?
You're learning this because:
crypto is part of the future
understanding the basics will help you become a much better investor in the long-term
The knowledge in these emails will compound, and soon you'll be making much better investment decisions with a much clearer mind.
You won't need to rely on influencers to tell you what to buy or what to do. You'll use your own brain.
So here's today's task.
✅ Task: get paid $25 in BTC for a Twitter thread on bitcoin
One of the best resources for learning about bitcoin is Learnmeabitcoin.com. I know, genius name.
The site was built by a chad named Greg Walker. It's full of simple graphics but incredibly helpful.
Today, we'll turn one of his articles into a Twitter thread (the article takes 1min to read, so don't worry).
Why? because "you teach best what you most need to learn" (said Richard Bach - a smart man)

Action steps for today
Step # 1: Read this short article:
Step #2: Create a short Twitter thread summarizing what you learned.
It can be short, long, one tweet, or twenty. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you post what you learn.
Make sure to tag us @alexmoneton so we can find it!
Step #3: Reply to this email with a link to your Tweet and your public bitcoin address so we can pay you.
The best tweet will win $25 in BTC.
Tomorrow is Favorite Friday - where we share our favorite resources, investments, etc. That's where the learning really comes into practice.
See you tomorrow,
Alex.
