đ 2 things you can't miss this week
PLUS: all eyes on the Fed
GM everyone. This is 2036.
Weâve got a big week ahead of us.
1/ On Wednesday, the Fed will begin a new easing cycle đ
This will be the first time the Fed has cut interest rates since COVID.
Now - everyone and their mother is trying to guess:
how much the Fed is going to cut interest rates, and
how the markets will react
If the Fed cuts -0.25%, it might not be enough to make the markets happy⌠but if they cut -0.5%, it might signal the economy is worse off than people thought.
So which one will it be, Western man?
Truth is, no one knows.
However, we do know that, generally speaking, and over a long enough time horizon, easing cycles and lower interest rates tend to be stimulative and good for risky assets (including crypto).
Part of that could already be priced into markets. After all, stocks are at all-time highs.
Bitcoinâs been making lower lows and lower highs for the past few months, which typically isnât a good signal in the short termâŚ
⌠but reversals have to start somewhere.
This isnât the time to bet the farm on either short-term direction (which is never a good idea, btw).
But in the long term, the easing cycle should be good news. The only question is how good itâll be, and how much is already priced in.
When that becomes clear, youâll be the first to know.
2/ Solanaâs biggest conference is this week đď¸
⌠and will probably be packed with announcements.
Typically, Solana Breakpoint - as the conference is called - is also very bullish for the price of SOL. In previous years, SOL has rallied profusely around the conference.
But we havenât seen that move this year. It could be because the general crypto environment isnât supportive or because crypto participants are already heavily positioned in SOL. Again - who knows.
But combined with Token2049 (the worldâs largest crypto conference, also in Singapore) this week, expect lots of updates and market volatility.
Historically, the next 6-12 months are the most bullish of every single crypto cycle (squint and youâll see the red line):
Iâll be watching everything from the sidelines and will update you when something worth noting pops up on my radar.
